There are many different recipes for this nut sauce. This is a good, basic recipe I got from an old friend years ago. Just by changing the choice of nut creates a totally different dressing. Use it as a sauce or dressing for salads and steamed vegetables or as a simple dip.
Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until very smooth. A sprinkle of salt or soy sauce and red pepper flakes can be added for taste.
Miso paste is made from soybeans. There are different types of miso. I prefer to use white miso when making dressings or sauces and brown rice miso and light yellow miso when making soups. These tend to be milder in flavor than some of the other types.
